The Registry of Societies (ROS) Malaysia General Director Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman urged all registered associations to hold their respective annual general meeting and submit their annual report .
“It is my responsibility to remind all registered associations to convene their annual general meetings as provided in their respective constitutions,” said Abdul Rahman at the 1 Million Tree Planting Program and Residential Association Grant Submission Ceremony held at Likas Bay Park on April 16th.
“Starting from March 1st this year, all applications and annual reports are to be submitted to us online. Associations need not prepare a comprehensive annual report as only the pertinent details are required to meet the needs of the department,” said Abdul Rahman, adding that the form is only 4 pages long on the website.
“The online system was developed by ROS in order to facilitate associations that are far away from Kota Kinabalu. Associations based in Kudat, for example, can be spared making a trip to Kota Kinabalu as it is sufficient to make a submission via the ROS website,” he explained.
Associations registered with ROS can visit the Registry of Societies Electronic System or eROSES at www.eroses.gov.my. First time users are required to make an initial registration to gain access to the online services. Besides sending applications and annual reports, associations will also be able to make payments, updates and appeals through eROSES.
Responding to a question asked by a reporter, Abdul Rahman said he had no objection to associations taking part in the looming 13th General Elections.
“Just like any individual, associations too have rights to stand as long as they respect the law and do not breach or threaten public order and security.” – Insight Sabah
